Introducing John & Kathleen Knipe, who have owned the Kennels for 35 years, are animal specialists having cared for dogs, horses, and pigs (to name a few) over their entire lives. They understand that “attention to details” is paramount when looking after animals and they love their work, so much so that they will not retire but plan to eventually hand over the business to their grandson Lawrence who works with them in the family business. He is trained and qualified in animal management at Stamford New College attaining 2 levels of expertise. He also has grown up with animals as part of his life.

Coombe Farm Kennels is situated in an ideal location with open fields. The Kennels are extra-large and have long runs. They are insulated and have double roofs therefore they are warm in winter and cool in summer. Each kennel has infra-red lamps for warmth.

The Kennels are licensed by South Kesteven District Council every year and John & Kathleen welcome inspections by prospective customers to view and meet with their dogs to discuss their needs.

They are insured with pet Plan Insurance. Food is purchased from Pedigree Master foods and they are fed once or twice daily according to owners wishes. If preferred they can be fed their own food provided by customers.

Dogs are taken out twice daily for walks and are allowed their own bedding and toys. Each dog is known by name and not a number. There are 25 kennels in total but as some owners have two or three dogs they are licensed for over 30 dogs at one time.

“Big enough to cope but small enough to care”

The Kennels are open all year around and every day of the week and the hours of opening daily are; 8.00am to 10.00am or 5.00pm to 7.00pm. These hours seem to suit the customers well.
